This is my very last blog before the end of the internship. Overall, I can say that these months have been excellent for me. I have been incredible stretched and I can actually see in myself how much I have grown.
This last lesson I am learning is how to control my emotions in the way of not being led by them. My head has been swimming with everything that has gone by and everything that is coming, that God just needed to remind me that I don’t need to live like that.
Praise God we are not led by our emotions!
When I was reading my bible a few days ago, I was reading in Lamentations (why, I don’t know) and I found this incredible verse. Lamentations 3:22 (NKJV) “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.” I have a study bible and in the little box under this verse it said that God’s mercy contains these three things: 1. His compassion toward us, even when we deserve punishment; 2. His commitment to restore us, even though we deserve to receive the consequences; 3. His covenant of love, which is the reason for the first two. This really spoke to my heart because we are not consumed by our circumstances because of His mercy, or His compassion, commitment, and covenant of love.
How great is our God!
In verse 23 it goes on to say that His mercies are renewed with every new morning. So everything of yesterday is forgotten, and God is concentrated on ministering His mercy to us for the things of today. I am just amazed at His faithfulness towards us, because who are we? We are sinners, slaves of sin, but He chose to redeem us and to make us “more than conquerors” (Rom. 8:37).
Hallelujah!
